In The Court of Duke Special: Video Blog
Hey guys,
It’s been a while since I posted anything on the blog so thought I’d share a few videos I found from the Duke Special “In The Court…” show at the Belfast MAC on Sunday.
It was such a great show featuring a massive cast of special guests including Foreign Slippers, Foy Vance, Sadpaw, Burning Codes, Jonny Gunthorpe, and the Arco String Quartet.
Here’s a few video highlights I have found today mainly courtesy of Mike & Gail Watts. Enjoy 🙂 x
Lost Chord – Duke Special, Foreign Slippers & Ursula Burns
Closed Hand Full Of Friends – Foy Vance
Wise Up (Aimee Mann) – May Kay
 Until next time…

hi simon just want to say it was ace having you playing with duke special and on bv’s too. i know duke plays with many musicians and many formats but the full band with you, ben, chip, phil & paul will always be my favourite. Cian was amazing too

Thanks Leslie.
It’s always great playing with the Duke boys. I’m sure there’ll be another show soon. In fact, I know there will! Watch this space…

‘Duke Special and Friends’ certainly didn’t lack ambition! What and a fabulous evening of musical talent and diversity – the Little bass section was handled with the expected aplomb but what was new was the prominence of your support vocals that added greatly to songs such as ‘How I Learned to Love the Sun’ Loved Duke’s version of ‘You Don’t Love Me Yet’ with Claire Hall who we hadn’t seen before, but all of the vocalists were so incredibly strong MayKay, Gabi, Foy, Johnny Gunthorpe and of course Duke, that I could’t pick an outright ‘favourite’ performance

Thanks Mike and well done on getting done great footage of the show. It’s always great to actually be able to watch it back after the event and see what it all sounds/looks like from the audience 🙂

Glad you like my photos Simon 😉
I’ve uploaded a few videos too. Here’s my playlist: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLJj-OkBDKHyrDaSPd3zpI8WEhHYf3a0r8. They are not only from Sunday evening but also from the other evenings.
I’d like to echo what others have said. It was a brilliant week of events at The MAC but Sunday was simply outstanding.
