Just a quick post to let you all know that you can watch Maggie Reilly, Mark Hornby and I performing a few songs on the Vintage TV Sessions, which airs April 30th at 8pm.
We recorded the show a few weeks ago at the beautiful Tabernacle in Notting Hill. This episode also features performances from Thunder, The Young Folk and Mark Nevin. Here’s the trailer…
Vintage TV is available on Sky 369, Freeview 242, Virgin 343 and Freesat 515. Most of you should be able to watch us in one way or another! You can also check their website at http://www.vintage.tv for more info.
We’re hoping to do a full ‘audience with’-type show sometime over the next few months. Sorting out the dates as I type. Fear not; I’ll post about it here to let you all know when it’s happening.
Hope you enjoy the show next Thursday. Tell your mates…
I mentioned in my previous blog post that on Tuesday I’d be playing at the marvellous Half Moon in Putney with Maggie Reilly so I thought I’d drop another quick post with some photos and a short video from the show.
We got a great crowd and it was really exciting to play another London show as the majority of our gigs are over in Germany and Scandinavia. As well as playing a lot of the material from Maggie’s latest album Heaven Sent we played all the hits and  some of the more folky material from her album Rowan.
The band for this show and the forthcoming German tour next week consisted of Davie Dunsmuir on guitars, Gordon Dougal on keyboards and acoustic guitar, Tony Soave on drums and myself on bass. We were also lucky to be joined by two special guests; Stuart MacKillop joined us for a few songs, as did Alan Darby who played with Maggie back in the Cado Belle days.
And as it was a a hometown gig for me I was able to bring my Warwick Triumph bass for a few tunes in the set. Love that bass…
So the German tour starts next week. You can find all the dates on my previous post. Whilst I did manage to get a few videos from the Half Moon show, unfortunately the app I was using decided to delete almost all of them. So all I have to show you is half of Moonlight Shadow from the end of the night. Enjoy…
I expect the next post will be after the German tour. I’ll try to get some more videos in the meantime. Until then…
ps. The majority of the photos in this post were shot by Phil Ross. Many thanks to Phil for allowing me to use his photos from the show.
Sorry I haven’t posted much on the website for a little while. It’s been a tad quiet of late. But fear not; it’s all gonna start getting rather hectic soon. I’m currently staring at an unfeasibly long list of songs that need learning over the next week or so. Watch this space for some rather exciting gig announcements coming soon.
I thought I’d drop a very quick post tonight to let you know about another rare chance to see the wonderful Maggie Reilly play a show in London this week. We’ll be at the wonderful Half Moon in Putney on Tuesday 11th March and you should all come along…
This will be a great opportunity to catch Maggie before we set off on our German tour in a couple of weeks. This is the only UK show planned at the moment so don’t miss this opportunity to see Maggie play at home! And at such a lovely intimate setting at the Half Moon.
